So I built my new lair next to a volcano with the eventual hope of setting up a volcanic power solution (and because its awesome, but I digress). However, I've noticed that [BC] Pumps do not seem to suck lava from underneath them if its flowing? This has scuttled my attempt at geothermal power near the volcanoes base.
Will I have to build the pump to extract directly from the mouth of the volcano for this to be effective? (as most of the side of the volcano contains no source blocks)
The idea was to have this system self-powering (feeding its own Combustion Engine), and also pushing lava along to a IC2 Geothermal Generator or three; but this is now looking unfeasible (especially if the lava available from a Volcano is not infinite as I thought it might be).
Hm, Thanks for all your replies, and the auto geothermal sounds a good idea, though tis a shame I can't have infinite lava from a volcano considering how they work geologically speaking. Ah well. This thread can be closed etc.
I think so but i have never heard of that happening, try using a setup with an energ collector and condensor making lava cells and piping them into a generator. I use this setup for infinite power on my favourite server.
