  • Good afternoon Cacher.

I'd like to personally introduce myself to you as you are a very active member of this community.

I am Jr Mme, a Fandom Wiki Manager, and I'll be helping the community of this wiki for any sorts of questions/problems, and be a bridge to full-time Fandom staff.

Please let me know if you have any questions about anything wiki-related. I'll be glad to help you out!

Thank you, - Jr Mime (talk) [VSTF] 22:23, May 17, 2019 (UTC)

    • Hi Jr Mime.

I don't really have any questions in particular. Tekkit Classic really isn't like the good old days anymore. However there does seem to be a resurgence in the past few months of Minecraft in General.

I guess what timezone are you based in? Im GMT +10

      Cheers, Cacher

  • Hey Cacher, been a while. Are you still contactable by email? Using your email link gives the error, "User e-mail disabled".

  • Hey man,

Saw you edited something doing nothing out of my page which I didn't notice. Thanks!

How do I get a high-res picture of the 2D Transmutation Tablet on the page? I tried looking at how other pages set up their pictures, but I couldn't figure it out myself. Am I supposed to go into the game files for the picture and converting it into a .png file?

    Thanks again!

    • Hi!

      No Problem :)

Pretty Much Spot On. I used to go into the game files and look for the raw image and then from there explode it up to 208x208 px, then compress it, before uploading it. Sometimes the image was inside a larger image full of different sprites, so you just have to search for it a little bit.

      Regards,

      Cacher

    • I should have also asked where I can find the texture files, as I am not able to find it anywhere inside the \AppData\Roaming\.technic\modpacks\tekkit folder. The textures should be found in an executable jar file that I can open with 7Zip, right? Where can I find the modded textures in? Thanks in advance.

    • textures as in like a texture pack? Yep. Everything is inside it.

  • Hello!

To clean up a spam user's userpage, I have made a slight modification to allow the VSTF to edit/delete user pages. You can see my change here: Special:AbuseFilter/history/4/diff/prev/20

  • Do you get email notification if I reply on my wall to your post on my wall? Not sure if you do, so just leaving a message here too so you know that I replied.

    • Deleting 3/4 of the page probably would be a better move if the 1/4 is completely correct.

That's certainly another problem, however I really don't see new editors coming in the foreseeable future (unless something big happens in Tekkit Classic?), so I just feel that a baseline would be a good place to have the wiki in.

    • I'd hesitate to delete so much information. This wikia would lose like half its content if we went the delete anything partially or completely wrong route. But you're right, we don't have editors to fix the partially wrong info either. Still, some other way would be so much more preferable than delete.

Not sure how we should work together on this. Maybe an editorial approach where you fix some pages and then give me a list of pages you edited, and I'll error-check them or something. Wouldn't know where to start myself.

  • Could you register a Skype account? It's pretty difficult to get a hold of you and chat doesn't notify us at all when the other says something.

I have something to ask in detail.

  • Haven't seen you around on chat the past week.

  • Do you have Skype? It would make communication between us much more convenient.

    • I just successfully upgraded my solar panel factory to v3.2! Took 12 hours, and is now completely unjammable! Logic was insanely hard, just like v3.1 upgrade was.

And this time around, think I'll finally make a MFSU factory using the same technology. I think with the v3.2 solar factory, I can finally call the relevant tech mature enough to apply to other factories without problems, now that I deeply understand the complex logic involved.

  • Hey Cacher. Just now, caught the MFM page at http://tekkitclassic.wikia.com/wiki/Tutorial/Mass-Fab_Macerator?action=edit&section=12 used my design without informing me or giving due credit, and with more than several errors about it, some of which I corrected. As it is still one of my private designs, the internal components and item ratios are not public - any source that posts this design is 99% the time just a physical imitation with none the advanced logic used to make it efficient and stable. If crediting people is against wiki guidelines though as how it appears to be on wikipedia, I'd require my design removed, or at the very least, false info about its specs taken out.

If you catch any page posting my designs without credit as shown in my imgur at http://imgur.com/a/IT0Ya, please let me know - most my designs are not openly public except to those I personally teach them to. Thanks!

    • And thanks to that, I ended up fixing that entire page minus the Construction section, like +6000 worth of changes and additional content. I haven't headdeskked my head through a 300 lightyear thick steel plate since that Brewing Page...and actually this page was probably much worse. SO many errors and misinformation, how did it stay like that as long as it did? Hard to believe I got suckered into fixing that page for 8 hours...just have a look at the change summaries and version comparisons for that page for an idea of just how terrible that page was.

      >newbies who write guides that everyone then ends up taking as accurate info, sigh

And speaking of, that RM machine page at http://tekkitclassic.wikia.com/wiki/Tutorial/Red_Matter_Machine really ought to be removed for being redundant to MFM's page, having a terribly useless name and giving even worse advice than MFM's construction page does. Was just talking about it in a forum thread not so long ago.
